Founder's Bio: Pastor Phillip Telfer
At the age of 17, Phillip Telfer surrendered his life to Christ and received a call into ministry. After graduating from high school he moved from Oregon to Chicago, Illinois to serve in inner city missions working with a local church. Phillip was also a part of a summer program known as Chicago Outreach to help coordinate and lead various outreaches in Chicago. He also helped start a weekly outreach to skateboarders and was involved with street evangelism.
Phillip's ministry broadened as he began to write and share music which eventually led to a full time itinerate music ministry and 7 self published recordings. Over the last 17 years He has shared his music in churches, coffeehouses, schools, camps, prisons and on the street.
Since his conversion he has had a passion for studying a teaching the Bible. Much of his Bible training has been through the Great Commission School of the Bible.
Phillip served as a youth and associate Pastor in Illinois for almost 5 years prior to launching out in full-time itinerant ministry for several years with his family. During that time he founded the non-profit organization Media Talk 101 and wrote a book called "What Wouldn't Jesus Do? Media Choices in the Light of Following Christ." Phillip is also the author of “Media Choices: Convictions or Compromise?,” and he has produced and co-directed the award-winning documentary, "Captivated." Phillip founded the annual Christian Worldview Film Festival and Filmmakers Guild held in San Antonio. He currently serves as teaching pastor of Living Water Fellowship in Bulverde, Texas. He and his wife of 24 years, Mary, have been blessed with four children.
Instructor Bio: Dr. Daryl Rodriguez
Dr. Daryl Rodriguez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree. Upon graduating from U.T.S.A., he attended Dallas Theological Seminary, receiving his Masters in Theology (with honors) in April of 2000. In June of 2000, Daryl co-founded a multi-ethnic Bible church in San Antonio Texas. In addition, in 2002, he became a Bible/Apologetics teacher and head of the Bible department at Bracken Christian School, in Bulverde, Texas. He has since received his Doctor of Ministry degree (graduating Summa Cum Laude) at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Apologetics, where he studied under world-renown scholars, Norman L. Geisler, and Ron Rhodes. Dr. Rodriguez has been a pastor for eight years and is a gifted and dynamic communicator who has spoken at a variety of venues. In 2006, he was a speaker with Dr. Anis Shorrosh at the "Truth and Proof" apologetics conference in San Antonio.
In addition, Dr. Rodriguez is actively involved in many ministries, including evangelism, homeless outreaches, and pro-life. In 2007, he began Love of Truth Ministries with the vision of training churches and Christians in apologetics, challenging them to defend and share the truth of the Word with a lost world.
